The Ahwaz Organization for Human Rights publishes its annual statistical report of the number of Ahwazi minority members killed by Iranian authorities.

Most of victims were killed after being tortured and poisoned in Iranian prisons, shot dead or injured by live bullets by the Iranian armed forces in 2019 while participating in the peaceful popular demonstrations in Ahwaz cities in 2019.

At a time when the Ahwazi scene witnessed a noticeable development at the level of collective awareness of the regime crimes; however the Iranian political scene witnessed exactly the opposite, in which political crises escalated and the economic tragedy worsened, and it even increased Iran's international isolation due to its nuclear violations in addition to putting many military leaders and the Revolutionary Guards on the terrorism list.

Ahwaz witnessed widespread strikes after the Iranian authorities announced the raise in fuel prices. according to international reports issued by Amnesty International and the Human Rights Council, more than 1500 protesters were shot dead with live bullets fired directly towards the demonstrators by the Revolutionary Guard and Basij Forces .

In the city of Machour, the Iranian authorities committed a massacre that claimed the lives of more than 150 Ahwazi.

The demonstrators in the city of Machour closed the roads leading to the port of the city by burning tires, but the Iranian Revolutionary Guard surrounded the city and attacked the demonstrators with live bullets. And more than 150 demonstrators took refuge in the quagmire adjacent to the city until they were besieged and shot dead. All of Ahwazi armless protesters who only carry with them their voices rejecting the oppressive policies and persecution practiced by the authorities in Al-Ahwaz were shit dead. Following this crime the United States of America put the Iranian military leader Hassan Shahwarbor on the blacklist for violating human rights in Al-Ahwaz. Dozens of European and regional channels have broadcasted the massacre.

The organization has been able to document a list of more than fifty martyrs since the beginning of 2019, most of whom died after being exposed to direct fire from the Revolutionary Guards in the city of Ma’shour and Al-Raihi while participating in peaceful demonstrations.

At the beginning of November of the same year, the poet Al-Ahwaz, Hassan bin Sammur Haideri, died shortly after his release from detention.

Later it became clear that the Iranian authorities had injected a toxic substance that was a direct cause of his death.
