Safha village is officially part of Falahiyeh (Shadegan) city residing on the bank of the Karoun River, with the majority of Ahwazi Arab land ownership forcibly dissolved for the sake of the state-run sugarcane projects, including Salman Farsi project. Nevertheless, this was met with resistance of native Arab inhabitants who refused to relocate and migrate from their ancestral lands. Today, this village is trapped inside the Salman Farsi sugarcane project, with a lack of accessibility to facilities including clean water, electricity and education.
Ahwazi villagers are normally living from livestock and agriculture. They ,however ,suffer from various types of skin deceases as results of using sugarcanes wastewater for washing or during floods.
