Greetings,

We, the sons and daughters of the Ahwazi Arab community in Germany, wish to raise before Your Excellencies and the international community the outcry of our Arab people of Ahwaz, who are subjected to grave human rights violations perpetrated by the Iranian authorities violations that amount to crimes against humanity under international law.

Documented Violations:

First: The mass death sentences issued against Ahwazi political activists by the so-called “Revolutionary Court” in Ahwaz, which is under the command of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) an entity designated as a terrorist organization are devoid of independence and impartiality, in clear violation of:

• Article 6 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), which guarantees the right to life.
• Article 14 of the same Covenant, which ensures the right to a fair and public trial.

Second: Arbitrary arrests and the forced transfer of detainees between prisons constitute a blatant violation of:

• Article 9 of the ICCPR, which prohibits arbitrary detention.
• The United Nations Principles for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance.

Third: The use of torture and enforced disappearance against political detainees is a direct violation of:

• Article 1 of the Convention Against Torture (CAT).
• International customary law, which criminalizes torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment.

Our Demands as the Ahwazi Community in Germany in this protest against Iran’s crimes in Ahwaz are as follows:

1. An immediate halt to all death sentences against Ahwazi activists, and a retrial in accordance with international standards, ensuring fair, public, and transparent proceedings free from coercion or pressure by Iranian security authorities.
2. The immediate and unconditional release of all political prisoners and an end to arbitrary arrests.
3. The establishment of an independent international fact-finding committee under the supervision of the Human Rights Council to document violations in Ahwaz and hold perpetrators accountable.
4. The imposition of targeted international sanctions on Iranian officials involved in executions, arbitrary detentions, and the forced displacement of the indigenous Ahwazi people, in line with the principle of no impunity.
5. Support for the demands of the Ahwazi Arab people in achieving their freedom and preserving their human dignity, in accordance with international norms and laws and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights guaranteeing the right of oppressed and occupied peoples to self-determination. This is essential to legally prevent the recurrence of such crimes and violations, ensure peace and stability in the region, and promote coexistence among its peoples.

In Conclusion:

We hold the United Nations and the international community accountable for protecting human rights in Ahwaz, and we call for urgent action to stop these crimes. Continued international silence will only lead to more executions and violations that threaten regional peace and security.
